Description

Photograph taken under the railway bridges which cross each other at the Castlefield canal basin.
The oldest bridge is the 1849 red brick viaduct built by the Manchester, South Junction and Altrincham Railway, After that is the Cornbrook Viaduct built in 1877 Cheshire Lines Committee, The Great Northern viaduct built in 1894 by the Great Northern Railway and the lasty the Salford branch viaduct built in 1898 also by the  Manchester South Junction & Altrincham Railway.
