Dispite this sounding fashist, I think everyone should be soldiers, look at Sweedan, everyone there has served in the army and owns a military-grade firearm and the is little violence, everyone is happy, and they never fight war with anyone, and the nobel peace prize. Maybe if we all learned to kill we'd value life more a stop fight, or at least fight less. what do you think?
We're [the U.S.] engaged in 12 major military actions around the world, and possibly more on the way now that we could be drawn into proxy with Syria against Russia and Iran if the Israelis keep poking them. And Romney has sworn to arm the Syrian rebels if he becomes president, which will definitely guarantee another Middle Eastern conflict.
Wondering if I should wait a little while to enlist...
While I think you are oversimplifying this I do have to agree that there are many blatant attempts to try and 'nudge' people into joining the armed forces, typically because they don't see any other alternative. Most soldiers come from areas like where I live: nowheresville towns with little to no business to speak of due to the fact that we're so out of the way. Rednecks sustain themselves, urbanites sustain themselves, liberals sustain themselves, and it's the people out of sight and out of mind that typically end up getting the short end of the metaphorical stick.
You want me to elaborate? Okay, I will. It's easy to openly mock and ridicule something when you're on the outside looking in. This says "The American Plan" and states that every policy in America is to make war, at least that's how I interpret it. Any American that agrees is a moron, sad to say, because it couldn't be farther from the truth. America's education plan is not to make war or to make soldiers, nor is it their energy policy or their jobs program. This especially is true when the military is having to deal with budget issues and cuts. If you want to talk about a country whose plan is to pump out soldiers, go look at China with it's millions of them. Now I can't claim to know where this "artist" lives, but if it's in the US I feel sorry for the state they live in. I get this dA user is a Communist and a Socialist and thinks America is a bad place and the root of all the world's problems. I also understand this person would feel all the better if the US had no military and could be wiped out of existence and replaced by a new Socialistic society. Being a goodhearted American I respect their opinion (how's that for a person from a bad place?) even if it's delusional at it's best.
Jobs- We're cutting back on the size of our military Energy- Our troops can make just about anything move, so yes Education- You can get up to 51k towards total college costs by enlisting as active duty, at least in the Army.
Everyone is afraid of the wolf, even though a wolf won't go out of it's way to attack a human. Only when provoked does the wolf attack.
Heck yeah! One of the only legitimate functions of government authorized in our constitution. p.s. the Obama energy policy is to deny as much energy production as possible to appease the environmentalist wing of the Democrat party, whereas Romney will open up drilling on government land, take the EPA's foot off the throat of coal, probably open up ANWAR, etc. Man, I love liberty. And destroying all our enemies utterly, too.
Coal is the highest pollutant when it comes to fossil fuels, it's downright filthy. Ever wonder why China has a skyline filled with smog? They don't have the clean energy rules that we do. Not to mention, trying to get ahead with alternative, clean energy will be quite helpful when we run out of fossil fuels in the near future. Also, most of government land is national parks and not someplace we should be drilling when the environment is already taking such a hit.
Oh my gosh, you're right! I only know two friends that went into the military, whereas I had several that would consider themselves pacifists and free thinkers. Who knew that the American school system could foster different groups of individuals that all have different ideas and personal creeds. The fabric of reality must be splitting!
