It's amazing to me that denouncing something as "socialism" or "communism" passes for an argument in the US. Like Obamacare. Why is it socialist? And, assuming that it does lead to socialized medicine, why is that bad? And no, "it's socialism" isn't a valid answer.
the problem is the language. some parts of American society that might support Socialism are afraid of the word Imperialist, and are afraid of calling those who are in control of their lives "Oppressors" for fear they be attacked. I do not suggest actually editing Che Guevara, but I do know that if "from imperialist oppression" were dropped, it would slowly gain more traction.
