Technically this could apply to any memorial day, and that is why I actually like this piece.

I agree, I may use this in a few weeks for American Memorial Day.

I sometimes think my Dad, who was a Vietnam Vet, thinks I forget this. . . .

You'll be surprised how many veterans go unthanked especially from Vietnam, any war is a tragic state of affairs fares for humanity, any One who serves, is a hero because even a peacetime serviceman may have stories that he's not allowed to tell.

Very good, though Soviets weren't the only ones who sacrificed a lot during the war. The sacrifices made by Americans, British, and French, and all the countries that suffered under Nazi rule must also be commemorated.

I think the reason why he chose those three is that they made the biggest contributions. I'm assuming that by putting up the Derby and the Lee Enfield, that stands not only for Britain's sacrifice but the sacrifices of all nations of the Commonwealth, such as Canada, India, and Australia, to name a few. The Soviet Union is more than just Russia, and of course, America prides itself in being a nation of immigrants from around the world.

Well all of that is true yes. I'm don't really have any complaints about this picture. I mean, it's true the Soviet Union sacrificed a lot. I just wonder if he gives a crap about all the sacrifices the countries that aren't communist have made.

Of course. That would be my only complaint about this picture, that he seems to suggest Americans, British, and French sacrifices should be forgotten. I don't think China got involved though did they?

What the fuck is wrong with you? China lost people in the tens of millions in the Second Sino-Japanese War. How the hell have you never heard of things like the Rape of Nanking?

No. I'm not even gonna read, because prior to your obnoxious comment, someone already reminded me of the fact that China got involved, thank you very much.

"Reminded" the fact that someone had to do that for you shows how little you know about the conflict and how badly the Chinese were massacred.

Last time I checked the Chinese surrendered early.

China as a whole never "surrendered early". China didn't even have a centralized government you nitwit. Yes, certain areas of modern day China (like Manchuria) surrendered and were taken over, but that's because those areas operated independently from the other regions. No one would have even had the authority to surrender all the Chinese forces. Each region of China had it's own military which was under the control of a different ruler. It wasn't until Mao won the Chinese civil war (which was halted after the separate regions agreed to help each other fight Japan off when it was made clear that Japan had the intention of taking over all the regions) did China operate as a united nation under a single government.

What source did you check anyway that told you China surrendered to Japan? Was it the same source that told you Stalin built the Berlin wall, even though he was dead for over a decade before construction even started on it, you fucking pseudo-intellectual dipshit?

that obama making in Ukraine now, makes it seem that the Normandy was in vain, that's sad.

I dont think that the wwII veterans in your land are Indifferent about ukraine, or will not know the result. not think they are inconsequential, but the media in there, are the best lobotomy, regrettably. History is not a clean slate.
