Because they are upper class snakes. They assume we should but I hold no loyalty to them.

Although yes Britain, Usa etc.. do live in democractic countries, they are only marginally better than those communist countries people seem to dislike so much. In our system it may seem like we all get a say and that we have the right to dictate legislation and policy but the reality seems more like, once every 4 years we get to vote for who will be our next dictator. Once elected they can choose to ignore the people or not, whatever suits them best. If it's getting to influence the outcome and have a meaningful say, a referendum based system is what is required, but that has problems too; constantly having to go vote on every matter, lack of politicians wanting the positions of government ( why take the job,,, no power :P ) no system is without flaws, much like humans :)

We should resprect their authority because the majority voted for them. You're taking our German Merkel as an example - while I'm not a supporter of their party, the CDU, I have to accept her legal power. Also, if a party isn't strong enough, doesn't have enough votes (typical for Germany) a coalition is formed, usually of 2, sometimes 3 parties. And no, this is not my will - it's the combined will of the majority. Yes, it does often lead to stupid decisions - but you can't just set your own values and not accept social conventions. This will just get you in jail quickly, and yeah, that's also a reason you should respect their authority.
If you're not happy - try to improve something, get active, vote - if you don't succeed, move to another country. But inform yourself first - you will quickly realise that no system is perfect, the way YOU would want it. Or me.

As for communism - it is an ideal, an utopia - but it's based on the believe that people are honest, hard working and care about each other. That's utopian as well.
I'm studying medicine - I would not be ready to work so hard, so much, if I get paid the same as everybody else. Capitalism is, with all it's flaws, the best system we have ATM, people are being motivated to do something. People are lazy ad egoistic by nature. This is why, as long as we have to fight for resources and wealth, communism won't work.
In a post-scarcistic system, communism will be best. Before that - capitalism.
Just look at Germany - we have a lot of wellfare here - and there are thousands who don't have a job, don't want one, and they live better then those who work for a living (sometimes).
It's just not fair that people get anything for doing nothing, while those who try get punished.

I agree. Sadly we're starting to see the cracks forming in capitalism as well.

Here in America the richest of the rich use their money and influence to gather more and more money and influence. In the past 20 years the top 1% have gone from owning 10% of our nation's capital to owning 25%. The average American corporate ceo pays himself between 200 and 300 times more than the average worker of his own company. They use that money to lobby our government and support candidates. Thus their taxes have lowered steadily over the past 20 years and they manage to block or stall any sort of Wall Street oversight which directly lead to the sub prime mortgage debacle to caused our current recession.

Playing on people's greed (capitalism) was a far better system than assuming people are inherently good (communism) but this system is starting the tear itself apart as well.

Answer me this....when has communism ever succeeded and actually been a good thing? When? I mean if you want to hand your rights over to a dictator, fine by me, but take that somewhere else.

Say which ever or whatever you will about the folks in office, a lot of it is subjective anyway....
but over my cold dead body will I allow my country to fall into the death trap that is communism.
