Description
Lenin should be remembered strictly to remind everyone who and what never to be.
His system of governance was, is, and will always be a failure. It has done nothing but impoverish populations, decimate once-thriving economies, stifle scientific innovation, leave people with no faith and no beliefs whatsoever, and putting in charge the least educated amongst us. The argument "it hasn't been tried properly" is so overused it's sickening.
Communism is a cancer and seemingly the route taken by any country that is on the verge of becoming a true paradise; they simply can't believe that it's possible to achieve true equality and prosperity whilst the people themselves are on equal footing with their government. So what do they do? They self-sabotage. They seek power for it's own sake. It's just like George Orwell described in 1984: "The earthly paradise had been discredited at exactly the moment when it became realisable."
Lenin is nobody to be admired or emulated. Neither is Marx or Engels. Those three men left nothing but destruction and hopelessness in their wake. Take a good look at China, North Korea, Venezuela, and Cuba, and you'll understand. They are the true visualization of "you will own nothing and you will be be happy."
Communism is wonderful, but only on paper. The Soviet Union only lasted 69 years, and that should tell you something.
