Totally exaggerated and most of them died of disease, but even then, why be ashamed of it? I'm not. I'd still support my people over another identity any day.

I'm not suggesting people should hate themselves for things their ancestors did, but if we don't hate the bad things they did then how are we to learn not to do them again? Condoning those acts is as bad as saying you would do them yourself.
