On the one hand we will always have government overregulation and taxation destroying jobs, and on the other we will always have lazy human debris who want something for nothing.

Conservatives are against both--it’s not hard to understand.

Telling people to get jobs in this day and age is the modern day equivalent of "Let them eat cake" (And yes, I know Marie Antoinette didn't say that line, but the context the made up line is phrased in fits this metaphor.)

Yep, it's not like many of them have been trying to get jobs! What about all those Tea Party folk on disability, doing, "leeching off our government" and not pulling themselves up from their bootstraps, as they often say? Like the Tea Party congressman and welfare king (getting $92,273 in disability in 2010 from his union job BTW) Chip Cravaack. [link]

Here's another Tea Party organizer and Welfare Queen [link]

I don't get why those Tea Party types want to cut out what is keeping them alive. Makes no sense.

Quote from a neoconservative I talk to "Occupy Wall Street: Join us in the fight against corprations! Afterwards, hang out at Starbucks!" And thats one of the more lighter smears I've seen against the movement, you can pretty much call out the standard ad hominem attacks since there said so damn much.

Exactly, I've noticed the same talking point. There were no jobs a few weeks ago and now suddenly all we have to do is want one and apparently it's there waiting for us (if only we'd get off our lazy ass). By all means show me these jobs and I'll have qualified hard working people applying today!

I actually heard about somebody throwing applications for McDonald's at a protester. Yeah, McDonald's. That'll totally cover the cost of living. :sarcasm:

I noticed this when seeing clips from FOX News on The Daily Show. The mentality seems to be that when wealthy white businessmen complain about not having enough money to expand their businesses this year, it's a sad tale and the fault of the government ('Joe the Plumber'), but when it's middle-to-lower class "leftists" complaining, it's their own fault they aren't swimming in cash.

Of course. When they can't get a job, it's because the economy sucks. When we can't get a job, it's because we're lazy.

they keep saying that all of the college students who don't have jobs is because they are in liberal arts, but this is again, based in no fact.

Of course it's not based on fact, do you expect those people to actually research the people they despise? If they actually KNEW what was going on, then they might have to actually use their minds to come up with actual arguments.

I love how international business is on there and English isn't. :iconteheplz: You'll have to forgive me. I told my grandfather that I wanted to major in English, and he told me I'll never get a job, and that I should major in international business instead. I'm not even kidding.

that is kind of funny that it isn't on there, I make fun of my brother all the time for majoring in English, found a comic for him too. [link] coincidentally, he has the same name as the character in the comic.

I think it may be the BS factor. After taking college English classes, I've learned how to be a very good BS-er. And getting a job is just as much BS-ing ability as skill.
