Paris Hilton was born in a family where her dad built a good fortune. I don't see why your ridiculing her. :| The thing is no government system is perfect. In fact most are flawed. :| Even capitalism is badly flawed

see, Tesla Impoverishment was actually his foult, as he accepted to loss the rights of most of his inventions to help westinhouse (great i dont remember how to write it)... mostly due the midly crazyness that comes as part of his ability... if he dindt did that and lets say, just decided to get 50/30% of the money he got from those rights he would just have died in relative peace.

Also the capitalism part of this was the thing about free energy, rich people wanted that off actually :/

But then i have to say, hell yes to the girl...

Oddly enough Tesla was said to have draw up blueprints for a ray-gun called the peace ray but he sadly died before he could create it, the world would be a different place if he had made the peace ray.

If capitalism was about the well-being of the people and improving everyday's life, nowadays nobody would starve, be badly healed (when they have the chance to be), missing water, have to work more time than seeing people they love...

Paris Hilton is worth that much because of her fashion and accessory range, not just because she's a talentless celebrity. Had Tesla been more proactive in selling his stuff he would have made as much as Edison and the more business-savvy inventors (and thieves) of his time.

I agree with your sentiment but this picture is just inaccurate.

also, it should be mentioned that tesla invented the radio, while marconi simply stole tesla's patents and thus created the radio by copying tesla's hard work.

oh, and edison might have been a good inventor, but his hatred towards tesla was cowardly, mean, and VERY low of him.
edisson should leave tesla alone, instead of sabotaging him.

and tesla's lightbulbs, electric current methods and general planning on electric systems were alot better than eddison's.

sorry, but its the truth.

PS: however, to be fair, edisons other inventions were superb. (f.e. the phonograph, motion picturecamera) he was a good inventor, but his hatred towards tesla was unfair and very mean.

good picture, and a good debate about this.

i feel bad about tesla.

he was a genius, and if things were different and he became rich+supported by sponsors, he would've builded a new world of technology, a new future.
we would be having the most impressive technology and future...
from wireless power towers to efficient energy reactors, to a million more things!

i feel sad that the world has lost a great inventor, a great mind like tesla.
he was great.

i wish that we will never lose a great mind like this ever again.

Nicola Tesla lived long before 21st century celebrities. Today high-tech industries are within the elite of the elite of the world.

Not to mention Tesla didn't want to become rich, he just wanted to do his things.
What a bounch of rubbish.

This is a poor example, using Nikola Tesla to show how capitalism makes some people poor and some rich.  Nikola Tesla could have been rich, he choose to give his patents for AC electricity away to Westinghouse to help secure the contract for building the power plant at Niagara Falls.  As you may not notice the artist did not use Edison, who did very well with his patents some 1093 in total.   But Tesla was free to choose, because if he was in a Communist country his patents would have been taken away and became property of the state.  Choice is what capitalism allows one to exercise.  Tesla made his choice, and he freely made it.  So did Paris Hilton, so why should I care how rich she is, not a single penny of my money I earned went to her.  I choose to be a truck driver, and I will never be rich, but it was my choice.  So this propaganda art is a fail.
footnote: I am not sure if Tesla gave the patents away, or let Westinghouse use them for free, but the results were the same.

You present communism as the alternative to capitalism - why? There are other options, basically socialist, which are working very well, allowing people to enjoy the fruits of their labor. The problem is that the spread of American-style capitalism and greed over the last three decades is undermining even the systems that have been working so well (my own country - Israel - being a case in point).

So Israel's problems is caused by America.  How do you figure that?  If it were not for the aid from America where do you think Israel would be?  If America is so evil and causing you country to suffer so much, then you most go to your government and demand that Israel refuse any aid from the "GREEDY AMERICANS", and then Israel will be a true paradise without America to mess things up.

"So Israel's problems is caused by America". This is what you got from my answer. Solid, rock solid logic. Sara Palin couldn't have done a better job.
As trying to explain what I said (about CAPITALISM) would obviously be futile, I'll just address your point re American aid to Israel: yes, please stop sending us money! Millions of Americans can't even afford basic medical treatment, and yet you're sending billions of dollars as aid to a country that has a GNP higher than most European countries?! A country whose policies - and your support of them - keeps you in the cross-hairs of the world's most dangerous terrorists. And - of course - a country whose prime minister keeps shitting on your president (I'll go out on a limb here and gusee that you're not too thrilled with your president, but I think you'll agree that taking all that money and then coming to the senate and peeing on his head is taking chutzpa a bit too far).

Yes that is what I got from your reply, because that is what you said.  Here is a quote from your reply.  "The problem is that the spread of American-style capitalism and greed over the last three decades is undermining even the systems that have been working so well (my own country - Israel - being a case in point)."  You clearly stated that America is undermining Israel.  You typed it not me, if you were not blaming America from Israel's problems than what were you trying to say in that sentence?  Frankly I have no real interest in debating the issue with you or any one else who blames America for all the problems in the world, we are not a perfect country and we made bad choices, but must problems many nations face have nothing to do with America, so start by looking within your own nation before blaming mine.

Somalia has no government, no taxes, and no laws. That's an anarchist's paradise. Oh but it's a war zone with massive poverty, that's what anarchy is really like. There is no incentive to work in Somalia when it's easier to buy a machine gun and just steal from others.

Capitalism is no joke exploiting the poor which include great inventors like Tesla while talentless celebrities (asiding from singing) get millions of dollars. It's like: "Ooooh mind the greatest inventors in history, let's give all these celebrities the money and forget about the inventors!" We use AC today anyway for our power grid though DC is used in batteries still. But I don't believe Communism would do much better. I mean China's got a huge economy (cause they're mixed)), but oppressive Communism in the USSR in the 20's and 30's could've had that guy killed.

Thing is most of Edison's great inventions he made tons of money and fame off of came from Tesla. Edison was just a good businessman. It was Tesla's AC current that we use to power the world today, but Tesla had to give up his rights to the patent so Westinghouse, (who made many of the generators in the competion for the contract for the Niagra Power Plant) could build it because Edison got Westinghouse into a bad Pr battle. If you don't know look up Topsy (Awwwww Topsy at my autopsy)

Indeed. Then again, capitalism is like any other similar ideology: It looks fine on paper, but unfortunately the way we implement it is flawed to say the least. Then something like this can happen easily enough. The problem is not with the idea of capitalism itself, but with humans that realize it...
