Caring only for money, leaves the world a very poor place.

This is a poor example, using Nikola Tesla to show how capitalism makes some people poor and some rich.  Nikola Tesla could have been rich, he choose to give his patents for AC electricity away to Westinghouse to help secure the contract for building the power plant at Niagara Falls.  As you may not notice the artist did not use Edison, who did very well with his patents some 1093 in total.   But Tesla was free to choose, because if he was in a Communist country his patents would have been taken away and became property of the state.  Choice is what capitalism allows one to exercise.  Tesla made his choice, and he freely made it.  So did Paris Hilton, so why should I care how rich she is, not a single penny of my money I earned went to her.  I choose to be a truck driver, and I will never be rich, but it was my choice.  So this propaganda art is a fail.
footnote: I am not sure if Tesla gave the patents away, or let Westinghouse use them for free, but the results were the same.

You present communism as the alternative to capitalism - why? There are other options, basically socialist, which are working very well, allowing people to enjoy the fruits of their labor. The problem is that the spread of American-style capitalism and greed over the last three decades is undermining even the systems that have been working so well (my own country - Israel - being a case in point).
timhutch Featured By Owner Sep 27, 2015
So Israel's problems is caused by America.  How do you figure that?  If it were not for the aid from America where do you think Israel would be?  If America is so evil and causing you country to suffer so much, then you most go to your government and demand that Israel refuse any aid from the "GREEDY AMERICANS", and then Israel will be a true paradise without America to mess things up.

"So Israel's problems is caused by America". This is what you got from my answer. Solid, rock solid logic. Sara Palin couldn't have done a better job.
As trying to explain what I said (about CAPITALISM) would obviously be futile, I'll just address your point re American aid to Israel: yes, please stop sending us money! Millions of Americans can't even afford basic medical treatment, and yet you're sending billions of dollars as aid to a country that has a GNP higher than most European countries?! A country whose policies - and your support of them - keeps you in the cross-hairs of the world's most dangerous terrorists. And - of course - a country whose prime minister keeps shitting on your president (I'll go out on a limb here and gusee that you're not too thrilled with your president, but I think you'll agree that taking all that money and then coming to the senate and peeing on his head is taking chutzpa a bit too far).
timhutch Featured By Owner Edited Sep 27, 2015
Yes that is what I got from your reply, because that is what you said.  Here is a quote from your reply.  "The problem is that the spread of American-style capitalism and greed over the last three decades is undermining even the systems that have been working so well (my own country - Israel - being a case in point)."  You clearly stated that America is undermining Israel.  You typed it not me, if you were not blaming America from Israel's problems than what were you trying to say in that sentence?  Frankly I have no real interest in debating the issue with you or any one else who blames America for all the problems in the world, we are not a perfect country and we made bad choices, but must problems many nations face have nothing to do with America, so start by looking within your own nation before blaming mine.

Capitalism is no joke exploiting the poor which include great inventors like Tesla while talentless celebrities (asiding from singing) get millions of dollars. It's like: "Ooooh mind the greatest inventors in history, let's give all these celebrities the money and forget about the inventors!" We use AC today anyway for our power grid though DC is used in batteries still. But I don't believe Communism would do much better. I mean China's got a huge economy (cause they're mixed)), but oppressive Communism in the USSR in the 20's and 30's could've had that guy killed.

Tesla screwed himself over. He didn't die in poverty because of the economic system. Nice propaganda, though. :|
1Wyrmshadow1 Featured By Owner Jul 9, 2015
True that. He tore up his patents so that Westinghouse wouldn't go under in its early years.

Thing is most of Edison's great inventions he made tons of money and fame off of came from Tesla. Edison was just a good businessman. It was Tesla's AC current that we use to power the world today, but Tesla had to give up his rights to the patent so Westinghouse, (who made many of the generators in the competion for the contract for the Niagra Power Plant) could build it because Edison got Westinghouse into a bad Pr battle. If you don't know look up Topsy (Awwwww Topsy at my autopsy)

Some people say that Edison was the inventor, but Tesla was the scientist.
seimeisamarian Featured By Owner May 26, 2015
Indeed. Then again, capitalism is like any other similar ideology: It looks fine on paper, but unfortunately the way we implement it is flawed to say the least. Then something like this can happen easily enough. The problem is not with the idea of capitalism itself, but with humans that realize it...

Tesla, though brilliant, was a nutcase. That explains much of it right there.

Great message, although after learning about how Tesla truly believed in eugenics I look at him a bit different now. And if any of you don't know what eugenics is just google it, its not the prettiest idea. Still great poster.

a VERY good pic, with a strong message.

a glorious inventor like tesla got ignored, and they left him to die alone and in poverty, while in other cases, only vain people got credibility and recognition. (im not saying that vain people do not deserve happiness, but inventors need it as well).

a good picture and a good meaning. bravo!
BlackBird123456 Featured By Owner Mar 25, 2015
I agree with you 100% but why did you add that little apology to vain people? Seems a little odd to me.
the-legendary-sword9 Featured By Owner Apr 15, 2015  Student Traditional Artist
oh. sorry for the late reply!

well, i added a little apology there for the vain people, because not all vain people are bad, and certainly every person deserves to have happiness in his/her life, even if he/she is vain....(as long as he/she is a good person and doesnt do harm to-others)

well, it was odd, but i mainly wish the best for all people, so thats why i said it.

tho, the bottom line is:

PEOPLE like tesla, people with his genius mind, with his ideas, and his wild spirit, are people that we should not abandon.
we shoudl never abandon those people.

because if we do... we are worthy of listening the harshest words from our descendants...
because we failed them, and we failed mankind.

its truly unfair to see geniuses like tesla to go unnoticed and unrecognized....
he deserved alot more, and he would create a new better world for us, im sure.

It's all Thomas Edison's fault anyway; if you wanted to EFFECTIVELY jab against capitalism, that would be the way to go. Just a helpful tip from a libertarian giving some First Amendment sanctioned advice to a friend whose ideals I may not support but fully accept his right to have.

The Communists probably would have murdered Nikola Tesla.

Because for one, he was an intellectual...But he also made the quote, "Never trust a Jew."

Which the Original communists (who were mostly Jews) made antisemetism a "crime" punishable by death in 1917.
originalCzechball Featured By Owner Jan 10, 2015
There's no real evidence he said that, and hardly he would - it was against his own religion...
EvanOakTree Featured By Owner Edited Jan 10, 2015  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
And what was his religion? And your evidence?

I'm not sure if the quote is real or not...But Tesla had to deal with a lot of Jewish Banksters( like J.P Morgan, Paul Warburg, Jacob Schiff) who were trying to destroy his plans...In fact these banksters are the reason why his plan to give the world free wireless energy never came to fruition. It's also interesting to note that Jacob Schiff was funding the Bolshevik Revolution.

You would be surprised who said these kinds of things...George Orwell wrote, "Trust a snake before a jew"

But the Communists would have murdered Tesla anyways, simply because he refused to give them (and the American government)  the full blueprints to design his infamous 'death ray.'
GuyChapMan Featured By Owner Nov 23, 2014
The Soviets wouldn't have killed Tesla, they would have known the value of the man.
EvanOakTree Featured By Owner Edited Nov 24, 2014  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
When the American and Communist powers were seeking the design blue prints/ knowledge to build his infamous 'death ray' instead of giving them both complete blue prints, he actually mixed the blue prints up and sent half of them to the Communists, and half to the American government, so they would never really understand how to build it completely...He saw the corruption in both the Communist and Capitalist powers. For the reason of his unwillingness to bow down to Communism, he probably would have been executed/ tortured to death...Just like tens of millions of others, many being educated intellectuals. The Communists weren't exactly known for superior technological advancement...No doubt they were the main hand in destroying Germany, the most technologically advanced society in the world.
Dreamscripter Featured By Owner Mar 30, 2015
Don't mix all communist in one pile. I agree with you about the first communists in USSR (that the period of 1920-1930th) - they really were mostly jews and really would likely kill Tesla. Situation have greatly changed in 1939, though - and if Tesla would had lived that time, his talents definitely would be highly needed in USSR.
